All political parties...

... repeat the famous canard of V I Lenin - "There is a party!"

In effect they all say, "Trust us! Sign away your autonomy to us! Let us take all the decisions for you!"

Get this straight. There is no party. There is no party worth signing away your autonomy to. There is no party whose functionaries do not become remote from their constituents once elected. Rule by a party is the same as rule by any elite - an oligarchy. Even a temporary oligarchy elected by a 'representative' system is still an oligarchy, still an inherently corrupt system, no matter how well-intentioned the party workers might be. Every party wants state power, the most idealistic party with the most idealistic adherents still wants state power. The problem with Marxism was never its sane, humane principle of 'from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs', it was that once the Bolsheviks gained state power the state decided what each person's abilities and needs were and they ended up being the needs and abilities of the state.

Comrades, there is no party. There is you, there is me.

    1. Tori, they are female members of an anarchist militia in revolutionary Spain, probably photographed in late 1936.
